What is a chargeback?

A reversal of a payment that can claw back commission already credited to you.

When a referred user reverses a deposit — through a card dispute, a fraud finding, or a bank recall — the operator loses the transaction and typically deducts any commission it paid you on it.

Why it matters

Chargebacks make your earnings provisional for as long as the reversal window stays open, which can be months on card payments. Programs differ on how far back they will claw and whether they deduct only the commission or apply a penalty on top. Traffic from markets with high dispute rates can look excellent for a month and then be substantially reversed. Ask how long commission remains reversible and whether there is a cap.
